AI Engineer Vehicle Development
Location: Eindhoven (minimum 3 days on site)
Hours: 37.5, hours per week
Salary: €5.900 - €7.300 gross per month, depending on knowledge and experience
Company: Leading truck manufacturer
Job description
Our client is one of Europe’s leading truck manufacturers and is making artificial intelligence part of the daily work of Product Development. For the Quality & Reliability Vehicle Development department we are looking for an AI Engineer who drives that adoption: you identify where AI can help, you build the solutions, and you make sure colleagues can apply them with confidence.
In this role you sit between AI technology and the engineers who use it. You design and deploy AI enabled workflows, build agents and automations on PACCAR AI Studio and other platforms, and translate operational needs into solutions that deliver measurable value. You work closely with Engineering, Testing, Validation, Program Management and colleagues with no AI background at all. The department safeguards vehicle quality, reliability and safety and supports compliance with ISO 26262 and ASPICE Level 2. Nine professionals work there, covering quality management, Six Sigma, reliability engineering and the PACCAR Production System, and the scope is now widening to include Generative AI office support.
What you will do
- You design, build and support AI solutions and agents using PACCAR AI Studio and other available platforms
- You promote and govern AI adoption within the Vehicle Development teams, in line with company AI standards, guidelines and risk principles
- You act as the bridge between AI technology and business users, translating operational needs into practical solutions
- You maintain and prioritise the AI project and idea pipeline together with colleagues
- You identify bottlenecks in the business and turn them into concrete AI use cases
- You coordinate grassroots, citizen and advanced AI initiatives across the organisation
- You provide hands on guidance, training and support on AI tools, models and best practices
- You monitor the AI portfolio to avoid duplication, check feasibility and find synergies between projects
- You build trust in AI solutions through transparency, usability and demonstrable business value
What we ask
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Information Technology or a related field
- Proven experience with AI technologies and platforms such as Snowflake, SharePoint, AWS, Open WebUI, PacGPT, Copilot Studio, GitHub and GitHub Copilot
- A strong grasp of applied AI concepts: copilots, agents, workflow automation and knowledge based systems
- Skill in prompt engineering and in translating business needs into working AI solutions
- The ability to spot and prioritise high value AI opportunities with measurable outcomes
- Comfort in a structured engineering and product development environment, with a solid understanding of product development processes
- Strong English communication and facilitation skills, including explaining AI concepts to non technical stakeholders and leading workshops or discovery sessions
- Proven ability to coach, train and develop colleagues and transfer knowledge across teams
- An analytical mindset: you assess processes, find efficiency gains and define success criteria
- High awareness of AI governance, information security, data privacy and responsible AI practices
What we offer
- A salary of €5.879 to €7.349 gross per month, depending on knowledge and experience
- A temp to perm contract, with a view to a permanent position with the client
- 37.5 hours per week, with remote work possible and a minimum of three days on site in Eindhoven
- A newly created role with room to set direction, rather than a seat in an existing structure
- Direct access to engineering, testing, validation and program management, so your work lands in the product
- An organisation at the start of its AI journey, where the portfolio is still yours to shape
