Codehive helps recent graduates kick-start their tech careers by combining hands-on experience with structured training and coaching. In this graduate program, you will join the iOS engineering team at Marktplaats, the most popular online marketplace in the Netherlands and part of Adevinta.
Marktplaats receives over 8 million unique users per month. As an iOS developer, you will help improve the mobile experience for users buying, selling, and messaging on the platform.
What You Bring
This program is for recent graduates who already have a strong foundation in mobile development and want to grow into a professional iOS engineer. You should have:
- A completed Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or similar
- Some experience building mobile apps with Swift
- Familiarity with UIKit and/or SwiftUI
- Basic understanding of architecture patterns like MVVM or MVC
- Experience with Git and working in a codebase with others
- An interest in mobile testing, performance, and user experience
- Strong communication skills and a proactive attitude
Bonus skills:
- Experience with writing unit or UI tests
- Exposure to CI/CD tools for mobile apps
- Experience using REST APIs in mobile apps
- Understanding of A/B testing or analytics tools

What You’ll Do
You will work on real features and help improve the iOS app from day one. Your tasks include:
- Writing Swift code for new features and improvements
- Working on user interfaces using UIKit or SwiftUI
- Connecting to APIs and handling data within the app
- Writing unit tests and fixing bugs
- Participating in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and code reviews
- Using tools like Xcode, GitHub, Jenkins, and Firebase
- Learning from senior iOS developers through pair programming and feedback

Program Structure
You will be employed by Codehive and placed full-time in an iOS team at Marktplaats. While working on real products, you will follow a personalized learning path, receive mentoring from senior engineers, and have regular coaching sessions to support your growth. At the end of the program, you may receive a full-time offer from Marktplaats if both sides are a good match.
