Marktplaats serves more than 8 million users monthly. As part of the mobile team, you will work on high-traffic Android applications that enable millions of users to buy and sell goods daily.
What You Bring
You are a recent graduate with a strong interest in Android development and a desire to grow into a professional mobile engineer. You have:
- A completed Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
- Some experience writing Android apps in Kotlin (Java is a plus)
- Understanding of core Android components and UI frameworks
- Interest in architecture patterns such as MVVM or MVI
- Familiarity with REST APIs and app-backend communication
- Experience with version control using Git
- A focus on writing clean, maintainable code
- Willingness to collaborate in a product team and learn through feedback
Bonus skills:
- Experience with multi-platform development or iOS knowledge
- Familiarity with Agile tools like Jira or GitHub Projects
- Any experience building personal Android apps or contributing to open-source projects

During the program, you will:
- Build and maintain Android features in Kotlin
- Implement modern UI components and follow Android design guidelines
- Work with RESTful APIs and backend systems
- Participate in code reviews, sprints, and daily team rituals
- Debug and optimize app performance
- Contribute to automated tests and app release cycles
- Learn best practices for mobile architecture, testing, and deployment

Program Structure
You will be employed by Codehive and work full-time in the Android team at our partner company Marktplaats.
